Epoch’s distrolist integration makes it easy to invite email aliases to your events. You’ll be able to select which distrolist(s) to add to your event from a list of all distrolists within your company and then each member of that distrolist will be invited to your event.

Since this is a direct integration with your distrolist provider, any changes to the members of these distrolists will be updated on Epoch's end automatically. The most common distrolist provider we integrate with is Google Workspace Groups.

Read below for a step-by-step walkthrough on how to set up the distrolist integration:

  1. You will be provided a unique setup link through WorkOS to set up this integration from your Epoch point of contact.
  2. Select the distrolist provider you want to connect to (this provider is where your company currently houses and manages distrolists).
  3. Follow the steps through WorkOS to set up the connection.
  4. Once all steps have been completed, reach out to your Epoch point of contact to have the connection activated.
  5. Your distrolists are now connected!

Here is a helpful resource from WorkOS.

Frequently asked questions

Will all Google Groups sync to Epoch and appear under distrolists after we enable the integration? Is it possible to restrict certain groups from being synced to Epoch?

If your distrolists are housed in Google Workspace, all of them will sync into Epoch.

What permissions will Epoch have for our Google Groups? I assume that it can view the group members, but does it also have access to group descriptions, details, and messages sent to the group?

We do not have access to anything beyond who is in the group and the name of the group.

Some of our groups are configured to disallow external messages. If someone attempts to use Epoch to send an email or invite to these groups, will the email or invitation be rejected?

The calendar emails are going to come from the admin's email, so they would not be considered external.
