What is Epoch?

Epoch is an employee experience platform that makes it easier for employees to discover and register for internal events. We meet employees where they are which is on Slack, email, and Calendar.

Do I need an account? How do I set it up?

Your account will already be set up - all you have to do is activate it! You can activate your account through Epoch's web app (companyname.epochapp.com) and log in through SSO. You can also activate your account right in your Slack workspace by interacting with any Epoch messages you see.

How do I sign up for an event?

There are 3 ways to register for an event through Epoch:

  1. Slack: Click Going on any event message.
  2. Calendar: Click Yes on the calendar invite.
  3. Epoch web app (companyname.epochapp.com): Click Going on the event page.

Can I register for an event on Slack?

Yes! You can register for an event from a Slack Announcement that gets sent to a certain Slack channel you're in. You'll see the interactive RSVP buttons so you can easily click the "Going" button right in Slack and that will register you for the event.

You will also be notified under the Epoch App for events that you've been invited to and you can also register from there.


How do I know what time zone an event is offered in? Are events automatically configured to my time zone?

Events will be shown in your local timezone based on your computer's settings and you can see the time zone right next to the event's time.

What are Categories? How do I find a particular series I am interested in?

Categories are a way of categorizing events. They can be used to easily filter events on the Discover Page. Simply go to the Categories dropdown to find events you may be interested in.

Can I share an event with my peer?

Yes! Each event page has a unique URL in which you can easily share the link with your peers to have them sign up for public events. Note if the event is private and you share the link, only those who have been invited to the event will be able to view the event page and register for the event.

How can I provide my feedback for an event?

The event organizer will set a time for the feedback form notification to be sent directly to you for events that you have attended. There are 3 ways to submit feedback forms, on the event page, Slack, or email. Here's more information on what the feedback forms will look like.

How do I know if an event is full?

If an event has a capacity, on the event page it will display how many spots are available. If an event is full, it will show "0 spots left" and a Join Waitlist button will appear.

How does the waitlist work?

If an event is full, you have the option to join the waitlist by clicking the Join Waitlist button on an event page or on Slack. Epoch's waitlist is fully automated and the first person who joined the waitlist will be the first one added to the event when a spot opens up. Individuals will be automatically added to the event and taken off the waitlist. You'll be notified of this through a notification on email and Slack.
