1. Go to Manage community from the Communities Dashboard
2. Click on the Members tab
3. Click on the Invite members button
4. Select the members you would like to invite to the community. You can select individual members, invite members by distrolist, by Slack channel, or by importing member emails.
   
   • If you are inviting a Slack channel, be sure to confirm that the Epoch Slackbot has been properly added to this channel in order to sync new employees into the community. Here are the steps to add the Slackbot to a public or private channel.
5. Click Next once you have selected all members you wish to invite.

Set members as invited or active

‍

Members can be added as invited or active. Invited members will need to choose to join the community. Adding members as active does not require them to join the community, they will automatically be set to active without joining.

If you are adding existing members of an ERG to your community, consider adding the members as active members.

‍

Inviting a distrolist (email group) or Slack channel to your Community

‍

If you invite a distrolist or Slack channel to your Community, new members in connected Slack channels and distrolists will be automatically invited to this Community. Removing a group won’t affect existing members. If an employees leaves the connected Slack channel, they will not be removed from the Epoch Community.

You can invite both a distrolist and Slack channel to the same Community.

When inviting a Slack channel into a Community, be sure to confirm that the Epoch Slackbot is added to the channel in order to sync new employees into the Community. To verify this:

1. Go into the channel and click on the channel name.
2. Navigate to the Integrations tab.
3. Confirm Epoch is listed as an app for this channel. If the app is not listed, follow these steps to add it.
