Removing guests from an event

Removing a guest means that they will be removed from the Epoch event and calendar event. This will trigger a calendar notification and Slack message to notify the guest that they are no longer part of the event.

  1. Go to Event insights for an event.
  2. Click on the dropdown arrow in a guest row.
  3. Click Remove guest.
  4. Click Remove guest again.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I remove a guest?

If a guest is linked to a distrolist, you cannot remove an individual from an event. Any linked distrolists must be removed from the event before the individual can be removed.

The reason for this is because the distrolist will always sync the employee back into the event even if they are removed.

How do I remove a distrolist from an event?

  1. Go to Event insights for an event.
  2. Click on the View distrolists link.
  3. To remove a distrolist, click Remove.

Removing a distrolist will only stop the syncing behaviour, meaning it will not affect guests who are already part of the event. If you want to remove members of the distrolist that are already in the event, you will need to remove the guests individually following the steps above.
