Send a Slack announcement

With Epoch, you can announce an event on Slack with Epoch’s integration to make it a seamless experience for employees to register or mark their interest. You have the ability to announce one or more events in Slack channels within your organization’s Slack workspace.

There are 2 ways to announce an event on Slack:

  1. Pre-schedule a Slack message on Epoch’s web app on the admin dashboard.
  2. Use Epoch’s unfurl feature by copying and pasting the event link URL directly into Slack.


Pre-schedule Slack messages on Epoch’s web app on the admin dashboard

  1. Hover over yourin the top right corner.
  2. Select Dashboard.
  3. Go to Communications.
  4. Click Send Slack announcement in the top right corner.
  5. Select the event(s) you’d like to promote.  
  6. Choose the Slack channel(s) you’d like to send the message in.
  7. Type in your message for Slack in the Message box. You can also add a GIF to the message to catch the attention of individuals in the Slack channel!
  8. Choose to send the announcement now or schedule it: set the Date, Time, and Time zone.
  9. Take a look at the Preview.
  10. Click Send.

Note: Slack announcements can't be sent for private events, as event details shouldn't be visible to those who aren't invited.


Epoch’s unfurl feature

Anyone can copy and paste the event link URL directly into a Slack channel, and the event details will appear below.

Note: Private events will not unfurl when you share the link in Slack, as event details shouldn't be visible to those who aren't invited.
